In this study from Mark 1, Luke 4, and Matthew 8, we see the unmistakable authority of Jesus Christ. He taught with power unlike the scribes, commanded an unclean spirit to depart, healed Peter’s mother-in-law, and restored all who were brought to Him. These miracles demonstrated that Christ is the Holy One of God, with complete authority over Satan, sickness, and the forces of darkness. The message also considers the Christian’s relationship to demonic influence, the importance of guarding our minds, and the believer’s security in Christ. Peter’s mother-in-law provides an example of immediate service after healing, reminding us to use our strength and opportunities to serve the Lord and care faithfully for others.
